EMV Credit Card Processing & Payment Solutions
WHAT IS EMV CREDIT CARD PROCESSING?
Short for Europay, Mastercard and Visa, “EMV” card processing leverages fraud-reducing technology that helps protect issuers, merchants, and consumers against losses from the use of counterfeit or stolen payment cards at the point of sale (POS).
EMV processing accomplishes this with the help of embedded microprocessors, or smart chips, which interact with the merchant's POS device to ensure the payment card belongs to the person using it. This kind of chip technology adds layers of security against fraud and is virtually impossible to duplicate. The customer must also supply a PIN or signature for EMV payment processing to be accepted.

GATEWAY INTEGRATED EMV PAYMENT SOLUTIONS
BluePay has partnered with industry leaders, ID TECH and Datacap, to provide several EMV payment processing options to accept card-present chip transactions through the BluePay Payment Gateway.
Integrated EMV - A plug and play EMV processing solution that seamlessly operates with the Virtual Terminal, BluePay Hosted Payment Forms, and any merchant browser-based payment form to process EMV chip and swipe transactions. The device physically connects to a computer via USB cable. Note that this EMV card processing option does not support PIN-based transactions, electronic signature capture, or contactless transactions.
Datacap NETePay™/TranCloud™ EMV - A true terminal-based solution that functions with a variety of EMV-supported Ingenico terminals. Depending on the EMV processing terminal selected, a PIN pad and signature capture capability may be available. This payment solution involves writing to a Datacap API that communicates with the terminal and BluePay Payment Gateway. All of these EMV credit card processing terminals use point-to-point encryption (P2PE).
Mobile EMV - A mobile EMV payment solution that allows you to securely capture credit card sales on Android or iOS devices. This payment option includes an API interface layer that enables your mobile or mobile-web application to communicate with the BluePay Mobile EMV Processing application to securely accept chip or swipe transactions. Once the BluePay application is downloaded, a certified Bluetooth EMV device is paired with a smartphone or tablet to accept card-present chip or swipe payments. All EMV card processing transaction details can be reviewed within the BluePay Gateway.
OTHER EMV PAYMENT SOLUTIONS
Clover Go - Using an app on a smartphone or tablet, combined with a Bluetooth-enabled wireless terminal, merchants can accept dipped, swiped, or tapped transactions on the go. This EMV payment processing add-on works right out of the box with minimal setup.
3 REASONS TO ENABLE EMV CARD PROCESSING
- Reduce fraud on your merchant account - Chip technology, combined with an EMV payment processing terminal, makes it difficult for fraudsters to steal credit card information
- Protect your customers - Retain your customer base by providing a secure shopping and EMV payment processing experience for your patrons
- Avoid liability costs - Investing in EMV processing protection now will save you much money in the long run, rather than putting your hard-earned dollars at risk
HOW EMV PROCESSING IMPACTS CARD-NOT-PRESENT MERCHANTS
If you think EMV credit card processing has nothing to do with you, think again. Card-not-present (CNP) merchants have seen a rise in fraudulent transactions as thieves migrate toward less-secure channels such as online, phone-based, and mail order shopping.
