Where can I find my Account ID and Secret Key?

Log into the Bluepay 2.0 Gateway Manager. From the Administration menu choose Accounts, then List. On the Account List, under Options on the right-hand side, choose the first icon to view the account. It looks like a pair of eyes. On the Account Admin page, you will find the ACCOUNT ID is the second item in the right-hand column and the SECRET KEY is about halfway down the page, near a large red warning.

What is the Tamper Proof Seal?

The TAMPER_PROOF_SEAL is an MD5 checksum (encryption) of your SECRET KEY, ACCOUNT ID and a few other transaction parameters. We use the encryption simply to avoid sending the secret key over the wire. Please see the BluePay Interface documentation for more information.

What is a SECURITY ERROR and why am I getting it while trying to process a transaction?

A Security Error will occur when the Tamper Proof Seal is miscalculated. Make sure you are using the Gateway Account ID and secret key, not the Merchant ID.

Does BluePay offer any template hosting services?

Yes, BluePay offers a service where an order form can be securely hosted on the BluePay gateway server. This is primarily used as a front end for BluePay 2.0 Redirect. Please see the BluePay Interface documentation for more information.

Does the BluePay gateway have a built in shopping cart option?

No, the BluePay gateway doesn’t have a built in shopping cart. We do have an interface called the BluePay Hosted Payment Form that can be used from a static HTML which offers basic shopping cart functionality. For a full list of supported shopping carts, please see our shopping cart link.

Can we resend the BluePay gateway customer transaction token ID for future transactions?

Yes, You can resend the Master ID (token) and any updated information to process future transactions. Please see the BluePay interface documentation for more specific examples.

How long is a transaction available for future use as a Master ID on a new transaction?

The encrypted card holder data is securely kept for 3 years.

Does the Authorize.net emulator support tokenization?

Yes. Pass the BluePay transaction ID (token) into the x_trans_id field. This works identically to passing back a previous transaction ID in the BluePay gateway with our other standard APIs.

Does the BluePay gateway support recurring billing via web posts?

Yes, please see the BluePay interface documentation for specific parameters and examples.

Why are test transactions declined?

The results of a test transaction are determined by the dollar amount of the transaction without cents. If the dollar amount is odd, an approval is returned. If the dollar amount is even, a decline is returned. This allows testing of both transaction result types.

I want to have certain transactions be declined if the customer does not enter in their correct address or CVV2 value. Can we do this?

Yes, you can set up filters in the gateway manager.

What is the time frame for processing an ACH?

If an ACH is processed before 2PM CST, it will be seen in the destination account the next day. The bank may take up to 5 days to issue a reject for various reasons. At that time, BluePay will retract that ACH deposit.

Does BluePay issue SSL certificates?

BluePay does not issue SSL certificates. The merchant would need to contact a certificate authority to get a SSL certificate. Some of the larger companies issuing SSL certificates are GoDaddy, Thawte, Comodo and Verisign. GoDaddy is usually the cheapest.
